When buying a new telehandler, you want to make sure you’ve done your homework. You wouldn’t just walk into a dealership and buy the first car you see. You would take it for a test drive, check out all of the major components like the engine, tires, etc. And then you might continue shopping around to see if another car might fit your needs better.

This is the same process for buying a telehandler. They’re big investments, so you want to make sure you’re spending your money on the best machine for you!

Today, we are here to help you by listing a few things you should be looking for in a used telehandler.

What to Look For in a Used Telehandler?

First, you want to identify the size and type of telehandler you need. You also need to pay attention to hour many working hours the machine has. They can make it all the way up to 10,000 hours!

From there, you can inspect the back of the machine to check out the hydraulics – ensure there are no broken hoses or leaks.

Then you want to pop open the hood. Check for oil leaks, noises such as the belts or alternator.

It is also a good idea to operate the boom to make sure there is no chatter in the boom and that it is a smooth movement.

Be Wary of Cheap Telehandlers

Don’t be too stingy; a lot of times the cheapest telehandler you can find will end up costing you the most. If a machine is super affordable, almost too affordable, you’ll probably end up putting more money into it than it’s worth to keep running.

At Above All Equipment Sales, we specialize in reconditioning used aerial lifts such as boom lifts, telehandlers, and scissor lifts from all of the biggest brands. Right now, we have a very unique boom lift in our inventory that is a great deal for anyone looking to invest in a new machine.

Our Unique Genie Z30/20N Boom Lift

We have multiple of these guys in stock, but there is one, in particular, that is a great find. This machine is a reconditioned 2001 Genie with a 30-foot reach, 36 working height. The reason why this guy is so unique is because it was previously owned by a school that took really good care of it. It was stored inside its whole life, so there is not outside wear on it.

These boom lifts are electronic, so they take batteries similar to a scissor lift, but they take eight batteries instead of four. When we bought this lift, we reconditioned it, so it has all new batteries, a new charger, new tires, the whole nine yards.

This Genie Z30/20N is only $14,900 and can ship anywhere, a hard to find deal!

At Above All Equipment Sales, our goal is to help our customers get the aerial lifts they need for the prices they want. One way we do this is by selling reconditioned boom lifts, scissor lifts, and telehandlers, which can dramatically reduce the cost of your machine.

However, we are also always on the lookout for other ways we can help our customers save. The Section 1790 Tax Deduction is one way we have found that can help our customers possibly get a deduction in the next tax year.

We are by no means accountants, but we would suggest getting with your accountant and discussing how much you could save if you were to buy a new or reconditioned areal lift this year.

According to the Economic Stimulus Calculator, property placed in service after December 2018, the maximum amount a business can deduct for a section 179 is $1 million on the first $2.5 million of asset purchases and phased out on purchases in excess of $2.5 million.

You can also possibly receive a first-year 100% immediate deduction for qualified property.

At Above All Equipment Sales, we buy and sell many different kinds of aerial lifts such as new and reconditioned scissor lifts, boom lifts, and telehandlers. Each of the machines we sell comes with manuals that are full of valuable information about the machine.

Read Your Manuals!

It is important to read the manuals that come with your machine so that you and those around you are safe! In addition, reading your manuals can help you increase the longevity of your equipment.

We encourage EVERYBODY that uses the machine to read them both cover to cover when you first get it and then skim through to refresh every so often.

Two Manuals

All of the equipment we sell at Above All Equipment Sales comes with both ANSI and operator manuals. The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) manual is a safety manual. The operator manual is similar to a car owner’s manual, which has information about maintenance.

What If I Lose My Manual?

If you lost a manual or didn’t buy from Above All Equipment Sales, don’t fret, you can download the manuals from the manufacturer websites, get a binder, and your good to go!

Reconditioned Skyjack 3219 Scissor Lift for sale. At Above All Equipment Sales, we specialize in selling the new and reconditioned scissor lifts you need to get your jobs done. We carry the most popular brands and models to help our customers get the machines that they want.

Reconditioned Skyjack 3219

One of the most popular reconditioned scissor lifts on the market right now is the Skyjack 3219. This aerial lift is always in stock at Above All Equipment and is excellent for a large variety of uses.

Skyjack 3219 Footprint

The footprint of the Skyjack 3219 is one of the most versatile footprints. This is because the machine is narrow enough to fit through a regular sized door, making it perfect for both indoor and outdoor applications.

Three Foot Extension

As the name suggests, the Skyjack 3219 has a width of 32 inches and a reach of 19 feet, 25 working feet. But this lift also has a nifty feature that extends the deck out three feet for a little extra reach.

Non-Marking Tires

Another reason that this scissor lift is great for indoor uses is because of its tires. They are a non-marking tire so you can drive it on any surface without worrying about ruining the floor.

Easy to Maintain

The Skyjack 3219 runs on four six-volt batteries, which are basically golf cart batteries. These are very easy to find and replace, which makes this lift a great option for low maintenance.

Likewise, the tires last about ten years with proper precautions, so that is just another way that this lift is easy to take care of.

At Above All Equipment, we buy and sell telehandlers, scissor lifts, and boom lifts from all brands and makers. If it is an aerial lift, we have it.

Affordable Lifts

Our specialties include selling reconditioned machines like reconditioned scissor lifts or reconditioned telehandlers. A reconditioned machine is a great option because it is essential for a new machine at a fraction of the cost.

Hard to Find Machines

Another reason to choose us is that we have many of the hard to find machines such as the Gradall D Series, which are no longer being produced but still a fan favorite with a huge following.

All Machines Pass an Inspection

We have every single machine inspected so that we can ensure the integrity of all the equipment we buy and sell.

The JLG G-518 Telehandler

The JLG G-518 is another smaller, more compact telehandler that is great for maneuvering tighter spaces. These types of telehandlers are commonly referred to as “yard dogs.”

Compared to the Genie 5519, the JLG G-518 is a little bit heavier, weighing in at about 11,000 pounds. However, the footprint, size, and length, and height capacity are very similar.

The JLG Brand

All of the machines that JLG manufactures are extremely reliable, which is one reason that they are so popular. They partner with Caterpillar, so their engines have dual engineering for a more reliable and long-lasting machine.
