scissor lifts

Scissor lifts are considered to be aerial work platforms. They are not accessible equipment to manage, especially if you are unaware of their use or components. But how much are these lifts worth in terms of monetary value?

Figuring Out Their Value

Scissor lifts can be worth a lot of money – or can be worth nothing. There is no between, but it does depend on their current state. For instance, if batteries are missing or not operational or the machine has not been correctly stored, their value drops significantly. You will most likely have to spend some money on the lifts before you can get any worth out of them.

But if the lifts are running flawlessly and their batteries are in tip-top shape, then their value can be somewhere between four to five, or even ten thousand dollars. This monetary value does depend heavily on their age as well.

If you find yourself needing to get rid of a scissor lift, give Above All Equipment Sales a call, and we’ll take it off of your hands. We can come up with a reasonable price and negotiate the terms in person with you. Finding the right away will be tricky, but Above All Equipment Sales can assist you every step of the way.

scissor lift batteries

Scissor Lifts require a certain amount of batteries, and most of the time, it’s four batteries. But as of recently, there is a new scissor lift by JLG that requires only one battery. Since this is a new product, we are unsure how this will play out in the long run. Regardless, you won’t want to pay for replacing it.

The Standard Amount

Typically, for scissor lifts, the number of batteries you will need will be around four. These batteries are golf cart-type batteries. The batteries are six volts which can be purchased in places such as your local Costco, which is where we recommend getting the batteries at a good deal. The most you will spend on these batteries will be around one hundred to one hundred and seven dollars.

At Above All Equipment Sales, we recommended only using four batteries as this is the typical limit. Any more than this, and you violate OSHA and ANSI standards.

telehandlers

At Above All Equipment Sales, we get this question a lot and see this question asked many times on Google. The question is: how much is a telehandler worth?

The Answer

In short – the telehandler could be worth anywhere between a little to a lot of money. Used telehandlers are like old cars that have gathered rust and do not function like they used to. But any telehandler that runs is an excellent piece of machinery. Whether you have a telehandler stocked away on the farm or if you inherited one from a passing family member or friend, it’s worth investing time and money into the machine.

At Above All Equipment Sales, we can assist you with selling or inquiring more about your recently obtained telehandler. We can help you determine whether the machine is worth your time or money or if it is worth selling and gaining a profit.

Aerial Lift Prices and Availability

As with most things these days, the availability and prices of aerial lifts have changed. Just like car dealerships, we are having a difficult time keeping many machines in stock, and the prices increase as a result—classic supply and demand.

So, it’s hard to keep new telehandlers, scissor lifts, and boom lifts in stock, and it’s even harder to find many used ones because those are selling so fast too.

However, it’s not going to be a long-term thing – it should free up in the next year, and prices hopefully will stabilize.

In the meantime, if you are looking to get your hands on an aerial lift like a telehandler, boom lift, or scissor lift, you know who to call!
